The Year of Love

My theme, or focus word for this year is "Love".  Love is taking shape, not only by working on projects that are representations of love, but in a broader, more encompassing sense as well.  The journey I'm on is about finding ways to love myself, and about loving others.  The people whom I love need to be reminded of my love for them,  The people whom I loathe need to be forgiven so I can begin loving myself the way they they aren't able.  

Then there's all the people I don't know.  My hope is that the work I have planned this year will offer a feeling of love to anyone who may happen to view it, whether that be a smile, or a deeper sense of connection that makes you say, "I've been there once, I felt like that too.  I'm glad I'm not alone.  I'm glad you understand".  

So far, I've completed a few small gifts for people I love, and will share those when they arrive at their new homes.  I'm currently finishing up a few lovable characters who can't wait to show you how much they love you, and one who thinks love stinks!  I'm also beginning a large piece of embroidery.  I haven't done any significant embroidery for years.  Though my love of creating art began with embroidery, I shy away from it because of how long it seems to take me to complete anything,  I'm not concerned with the finishing, I'm looking forward to spending the time creating an image I love with methods I love, taking the time to fully enjoy the process.  There's a wedding project underway for family of a special friend.  And so much more!!  Be sure the check in here from time to time to see what's happening.
