Happy Halloween

Ghosts and ghouls delight tonight, both outside and in my studio.  The outside spooks pose more of a threat, as witches sit in my studio headless, accompanied by crows without beaks to peck out anyone's eyes.  Stay tuned for those if I ever get a day off work so I can finish them.    However, speaking of eyes,  know that I'm watching.  Always watching.  Also know that it delights me to see this eyeball covering the peep-hole in this door.

P.S.  Know that not all clear dimensional glazes are created equal and just because someone says a product is "compatible" with polymer clay doesn't mean it will hold up to the heat used to cure the clay.  This eyeball was made and then glazed with Ranger Glossy Accents dimensional glaze.  After the glaze set, I sculpted the face around it, and cured it again.  Big mistake.  Glossy Accents melts into a pile of sticky goop.  Thick sticky goop that I was fortunately to pull out of the eyeball.  Of course, that pulled most of the paint in the eyeball out with it....I'm told Diamond Glaze is safe to be baked, but when I went to fetch some of that I found the local store who sells that product is going out of business and has none left.  And my Michael's store no longer sells Delta PermEnamel, which I know works.    I'm now on a hunt for an accessible alternative, or someone willing to bring me along on their next cross-boarder shopping day trip so I can stock up on familiar products.
